One of the Guys

I know it’s been a while since the last time I wrote.  Not too much has happened in that time.  I was sick for several days earlier this week, and, thus, decided it would not be a good idea to go to Budapest this weekend.  I’m bummed I won’t be going to my favorite city after all, but I really need to catch up on the work I didn’t do on those days.  Plus, I need to not get sick again because my first draft is due next week.  Even though it is a first draft, I would like for it to be a strong one.  Thus, I will be spending the next week working hard to get it complete.  My goal for the weekend is to write/finish the “Results” section.

Yesterday, though, I had a good day at the clinic.  Dana told me to be sure to let them know if I ever want coffee while I’m at the clinic (they have a secret stash) because I’m “basically one of the guys now.”  YAY! I’m one of the guys 🙂  Dana is so nice, and she really is pleasant to talk to.  I really love the docs at the clinic, well the three I interact with the most.  They really make my mornings enjoyable, and typically give me a good laugh at some point, too.

Today, one of the girls at Open Minds was asking me about what I do at the clinic.  I was telling her that the doctors were all really funny.  Of course she asked, “And cute?”  Well, out of the two male doctors, one is cute.  She said given the ratio, that’s a win.  haha.  I guess she’s right.  If nothing else, it’s certainly better than if they were both hideously deformed.

Today I was also asked what I was going to tell my friend about Romania when I get home.  I think I’m going to have to think about that one.  It really is a pleasant country and the people are all really nice for the most part.  I really should think about it, because, in case you haven’t looked at the calendar today, I only have a month left before I head back to the States.    In some ways, time has flown by.  By this time on November 19, I will be somewhere between Munich and Newark, somewhere over the Atlantic.  I will have already been served lunch and will be trying to sleep or watching whatever B movie they have on the in-flight entertainment.
