2 Weeks, Y’all

Today is my 2 week anniversary for being in Romania.  It’s a little hard to believe.  In some ways, it feels like I just got here, and in other ways, it feels like I left DC forever ago.

Gchat, Facebook, and Skype have become my new best friends…well, more so than they already were.

Here are some new (quick) experiences I don’t think I’ve mentioned yet:
1) Oreos in Romania are kind of gross…which is really sad
2) I went to the grocery store the other day, and my total was 10.04.  So, I handed the lady 11.  She glared at me and asked if I had the 4 cents (or, at least that’s what I assumed she was asking…).  I said no, and she glared at me and handed me my 1 back so she wouldn’t have to count out the change
3) I’ve had to show two different cab drivers where I live on the map and have almost been successful in giving directions

It’s the end of the day, and I need to leave the office.  But, I wanted to give a quick update.  I’ll write more this weekend.

  1. Two weeks? I told a friend yesterday that you’ve been gone a few days . . .

    1. I think I’m beyond the “few” thresh hold lol

  2. I hope you weren’t celebrating your 2 week anniversary with oreos! But they say everything is less sweeter is other countries anyway… 🙂
Missing you here but glad time is flying by and you’re starting to enjoy yourself and figuring out how to connect with us. Shall we Skype soon?

    1. Would love to skype!!

      1. What’s the best time?

      2. Typically between noon and 5pm your time. Most days work for me. Let me know a good day for you, and I’ll be sure to be online.

      3. How about Monday or Tuesday this week?

      4. Either day works fine for me–today or tomorrow. I don’t have plans either day at this point.
