One of the things I have to do to get ready for Ukraine is write a 3 minute version of my testimony (it has to be short and sweet because it will be translated, and thus take much longer to actually tell). To be honest, this task is a little bit daunting for me. In a lot of ways, my whole life story is my testimony. I certainly can’t tell it all in just 3 minutes. How do I tell the Cliff notes version, keep it concise, but not too watered down? Will I be able to keep it simple enough for it to be easily translatable? I also find it difficult to tell a story that is only a quarter of the way through.
In all the years I’ve been in church, I’ve never had to give my testimony. I’ve told bits and pieces to friends, but never in a public setting. I also sometimes feel I could tell my testimony better through song. So, here is my testimony, as told by Enter the Worship Circle, Hillsong, John Mark McMillan, and Misty Edwards. I’ve provided YouTube links to the ones I could find. For the rest, you can find them on both iTunes and Spotify.

You may think it weird for me to think about a playlist before I do any actual writing. However, these songs capture the emotions and the ultimate outcome I would want to express. Listening to these songs and trying to create a playlist of my testimony has actually helped me think about what I want to say because the songs help me to feel it first. It’s the way I operate.
